This can be difficult if new to the
area, If you think that all Garages are more or less the same, and it
doesn't really matter which one you choose, you've been living in a
bubble. The modern automobile is quite complex, Car Servicing and
maintenance requirements and procedures vary by manufacturer, year and
model.
For
instance, service light resetting. There are significant differences in
transmission fluid types. What will work perfectly fine in one
manufacturer's transmission will destroy another's! Can you tell the
difference? Let's hope that the Garage you choose can tell!
That's just two examples of thousands
with which a competent technician with the right tools must be familiar
with.

Welcome to AutoCare Centre for All Makes Car
Servicing
No Nasty Surprises at
AutoCare Centre
Working in the motor trade for over thirty
years, you get to hear plenty of horror stories from people regarding
Car Servicing or Car Repairs. One of the most common complaints
in the industry is about receiving the bill, which is far more expensive
then they were expecting.
We at AutoCare Centre always
give you an estimate of the cost of your Car Service or Repair. If during
the course of Car Servicing or Repairs we discover any additional work
required, we will always contact you to advise you the extra costs
involved and get your permission before proceeding. If requested we will
save your old parts for your inspection, you can even take them away.
Occasionally this causes a
delay in the completion of the service or repairs, when a customer cannot
be contacted, but we find the customer more easily accepts this than a
bill for a few hundred pounds more than they were expecting. It's a well known fact that our trade has a poor
reputation for the way it treats its customers and the lack of competence
in technicians working on customer vehicles.
We all carry some
accountability for ensuring that our workforce continues to evolve and
develop to the benefit of our company and it's customers.
We have built our business on being honest and genuine
with customers and in fulfilling the promises we make. Our customers appreciate this and we enjoy a very high
level of repeat business, we have found loyalty does truly work both ways.
Joining the ATA Technician Accreditation program. I
felt this was a unique
opportunity to yet again
separate ourselves from the other Car Servicing companies in
our area.
To achieve accreditation,
our technicians have signed a code of conduct and then passed a series of
rigorous practical tasks in areas such as braking, engine, electrical
systems, and vehicle safety. This was then followed by an on-line
knowledge test.
We are
delighted to be recognised for our technical competence and ethical
behavior. This accreditation shows our customers that we are committed to
providing the highest level of expertise and professional standards.
Automotive Technician Accreditation

Automotive Technician Accreditation is a national voluntary scheme
which tests the current competence of individuals working in the retail
motor industry.
It has the backing of major vehicle manufacturers and independent
service and repair organisations. Automotive Technician Accreditation is
governed by the Institute of the Motor Industry (IMI), and ATA registered
technicians sign and are bound by a special Code of Conduct.
With the increasing complexity and sophistication of vehicles there has
never been a greater need for competent technicians. Properly trained
technicians are highly skilled professionals, Automotive Technician
Accreditation has been developed to enable identification of them. Not all
garages are the same.
